Contract – Breach. Sale contracts concerning the sale of gasoline and gasoil, which had been made between two oil trading companies, Glencore Energy UK Ltd (Glencore) and a Ghanian company, Springfield Energy Ltd (Springfield), were not unlawful under Ghanian law, as Springfield had contended. Accordingly, the Commercial Court ruled that Glencore was entitled to judgment in the sum of US$1,234,205.91, along with interest, pursuant to a settlement agreement under which Springfield had admitted liability to Glencore for breach of the sale contracts.
