Medical practitioner – Disciplinary panel. The Medical Practitioners' Tribunal's decision to suspend the respondent doctor from the medical register for a period of 12 months had been erroneous in circumstances where the respondent had amended the certificate on the appellant General Medical Council (GMC) website to show that he had a licence to practise when he did not. The Queen's Bench Division, in allowing the appeal from the GMC, held that there had been a breach of a fundamental tenet of the medical profession and that the respondent should have his name erased from the medical register.
