Personal Injury: Quantum Case. Clinical Negligence. Injuries resulting in death. PSLA of £150,000 with general damages of £200,000. A delay in diagnosis and treatment of aortic valve disease and stenosis led to the death of the claimant's wife in October 2013. She underwent ECGs in June 2010. The results were abnormal but no further action was taken. In September 2013 she was admitted to hospital with a chest infection and given antibiotics. On 1 October 2103, she had pneumonia and pulmonary emboli. A further echocardiogram showed severe deterioration. She went into multiple organ failure and died on 18 October 2013.
