European Union – Employment. Point FCL.065(b) in Annex I to Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011, which precluded the holder of a pilot licence who had attained the age of 65 years from acting as a pilot of an aircraft engaged in commercial air transport, was valid in the light of arts 15(1) and 21(1) of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. The Court of Justice of the European Union so held, among other things, in a preliminary ruling in the course of proceedings between Lufthansa CityLine GmbH and the applicant employee.
