Faulkner v United Kingdom (App. No. 68909/13)

Human rights – Right to liberty and security. The European Court of Human Rights, in dismissing the applicant's complaint, held that, while there had been a delay in the holding of his Parole Board review, the nature of the delay and its overall length had not been such as to lead to the conclusion that the applicant's detention from March 2008 until his release in January 2009 had become arbitrary and unlawful, contrary to art 5(1)(a) of the European Convention on Human Rights.
