Durrant v Chief Constable of Avon & Somerset Constabulary

Race relations – Discrimination. It could not be inferred that the judge had had s 57ZA of the Race Relations Act 1976 in mind or that he had adopted an approach in line with it in having found only two acts of unlawful discrimination against the appellant when she had been arrested by the police. Accordingly, the Court of Appeal, Civil Division, allowed the appellant's appeal in relation to liability in respect of one of three additional allegations of race discrimination and substituted a finding that there had been a further act of race discrimination.
