Dacorum Borough Council v Bucknall (formerly known as Acheampong)

Housing – Local authority houses. When the respondent local authority had issued the appellant single mother with a notice to quit the property she was occupying, she had been occupying that property as a dwelling within the meaning of s 5(1A) of the Protection from Eviction Act 1977. The Queen's Bench Division, in coming to that decision, allowed the appellant's appeal against an earlier decision that she had not been occupying the property as a dwelling.
