Mental health – Court of Protection. The Court of Protection, in determining a preliminary issue, held that the applicants, who had been born and raised in Scotland, had acquired habitual residence in England by having received treatment in the same specialist hospital in England for several years. They had each achieved a degree of integration in the English hospital such that the court had jurisdiction to determine issues concerning the applicants' future welfare.
