Personal Injury: Quantum Case. Food safety and accidents abroad. Injuries to internal organs with PSLA of £1,000. Duration one month. The claimant was 12 when she suffered from acute gastrointestinal illness after a holiday to Egypt. Before going on holiday she was otherwise fit and well. She experienced symptoms of diarrhoea, abdominal pain and, later, vomiting. She was unable to eat. Her symptoms were so severe that she remained largely confined to her bedroom for a period of three days. The symptoms persisted for 30 days.
