Criminal law – Robbery. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, on a reference by the Attorney General under s 36 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, held that a sentence of 24 months' imprisonment, suspended for 24 months, for one count of attempted robbery and one count of having an imitation firearm with intent, had been unduly lenient. However, although unduly lenient, in all the circumstances, the court was not prepared to interfere with the sentence.
