Landlord and tenant – Flats. The Chancery Division allowed a landlord's appeal against a declaration that he was under an obligation to transfer his property to qualifying tenants, pursuant to the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. In the circumstances, the landlord's transfer of the legal title to a company in which he was the majority shareholder, and which had held the property on trust for him, and the subsequent transfer back to the landlord, had not constituted a relevant disposal of the property to trigger the relevant provisions of the Act.
