Abrahall and others v Nottingham City Council and another

Employment – Contract of employment. The Employment Appeal Tribunal allowed an appeal against the dismissal of unlawful deduction claims in relation to one group of employees and dismissed it in relation to the other groups. Among other things, it held that the local authority employees had not been deprived of their entitlement to an annual increment within grade by the terms of a collective agreement because the terms therein had not taken away such a right.
