Building contract – Construction. The claimants claim for breach of contract succeeded against the defendants where, under a construction contract, a large number of glass panels had been installed at premises in London. Seventeen failures had occurred in the glass between 2008 and 2012, causing glass to fall onto the street below. The Technology and Construction Court held that, among other things, the defendants had acted in breach of contract in failing to ensure that the glass was properly strengthened, and that the sum of approximately £14.7m would be recoverable in damages.
