Immigration – Leave to enter. There was no obligation on a European Convention on Human Rights state to allow an alien to enter its territory to pursue a private life. Article 8 of the Convention was not engaged in the respondent Pakistani's application for entry clearance for his family to visit the United Kingdom to visit extended family. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division held that the both lower tribunals should have dismissed the appeal.
