Title – Honour. Regarding the baronetcy of Pringle of Stichill, the Privy Council held that DNA evidence would be admitted to rebut the evidential presumption that the ninth baronet had been the legitimate son of the eighth baronet. Accordingly, in accepting that evidence, the Board concluded that the first claimant was not the great grandson of the eighth baronet and was not the heir male of the first baronet. The second claimant, however, was the grandson of the eighth baronet and was, as the heir male of the first baronet, entitled to succeed to the baronetcy of Pringle of Stichill.
