*Nissan Jidosha KK v European Union Intellectual Property Office

European Union – Trade marks. The Court of Justice of the European Union held that art 47(3) of Council Regulation (EC) 207/2009, and the principle of legal certainty, had not precluded the submission of a request for renewal relating to certain classes of goods or services in respect of which an EU trade mark was registered, when a request for renewal concerning other classes of goods or services covered by the same mark had been submitted previously, within the period laid down in the first sentence of that provision.
