Immigration – Deportation. The Supreme Court dismissed an appeal concerning a deportation order made against a Tunisian national (B), who had committed crimes in the United Kingdom, in circumstances where B had contended that his deportation would be in breach of his rights under art 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The court held that the evidence led unmistakably to the conclusion that B had not enjoyed any relationship with either of his children and that they had led lives which had been wholly untouched by the circumstance that he was their father. The court further held that the Secretary of State had not been not obliged to make further inquiries in relation to B and his children beyond those which had already taken place.
