*Gordon and others v Campbell Riddell Breeze Paterson LLP

Agricultural holding – Notice to quit. The appellant trustees' appeal against a finding that their claim against the respondent solicitors' firm was proscribed was dismissed. The claim concerned an action for possession of fields. The Supreme Court held that, on the true construction of the Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973, the prescriptive period had begun when the trustees had knowingly become liable for legal fees and outlays in pursuit of vacant possession of the fields.
