Environment and Traffic Appeals Tribunal Adjudicators

The appointment is part-time. Adjudicators are expected to offer a minimum 20 sitting days subject to demand and availability of work.

From the 1 April 2024 the sitting fee for Environment and Traffic Adjudicators is £65.42 Per Hour

The Environment and Traffic Tribunal is one of the busiest tribunals in the country, providing an independent appeals service to around 60,000 people each year.

Parking Adjudicators for London are appointed under Section 73 of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and Section 81 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 by the Transport and Environment Committee of London Councils, a joint committee of the thirty-three London Local Authorities and Transport for London.

London Councils is now seeking to appoint further part-time Adjudicators.

An application form must be completed in full by all those who wish to be considered for appointment as a part time Parking Adjudicator. Applicants are asked to satisfy themselves that they meet both the eligibility requirements and all criteria for appointment.

Applicants are asked to name two people or members of their profession who would be able to comment on their suitability for appointment as a Parking Adjudicator. Candidates are also asked to provide a self-assessment against the criteria.

Enquiries are also made, as appropriate, from The Law Society and the General Council of the Bar and possibly other specialist organisations.

  • The London Local Authorities Act 1996 (as amended) Part II and Schedule 1
