Are you a talented lawyer looking to take the next step in your career? The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) are looking for a qualified barrister or solicitor to join our diverse workforce as a Senior Advisory Lawyer in the Strategy and Policy Directorate (SPD).

A unique opportunity to work within a fast-paced and supportive Directorate that offers challenging and varied work. The Senior Advisory Lawyer will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the delivery of policy programmes within the SPD.

From policy guidance to pilot projects, ground breaking social research and strategies to deal with emerging issues on economic crime and rape, SPD deliver a huge range of projects. This financial year alone (2022-23), we have identified around 140 individual delivery projects working on the justice system’s highest priorities, on top of our important business as usual work, and influencing objectives.

Our work ensures that the entire criminal justice system works effectively and in line with the needs and interests of our prosecutors and the diverse communities we serve.

Delivering justice is a complex pursuit with work that is sometimes emotionally challenging, we want to ensure our prosecutors can thrive at work and home and offer a range of support to achieve a balance. This includes flexibility of working hours, flexibility to support caring responsibilities and a family friendly approach to work.
