Crown Prosecutor

Are you a talented lawyer looking for a change of direction in your career? The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) are looking for qualified solicitors and barristers to join our diverse workforce across England and Wales.

As a Crown Prosecutor you will be responsible for delivering justice through the independent and effective prosecution of crime. We are looking for lawyers who want to make a real difference to people’s lives. From fraud and firearms to public order and corporate manslaughter – the CPS works on all kinds of cases.

Your role as a CPS Prosecutor means you will be making the fair – sometimes unpopular – decisions that better society and make a difference to people’s lives. Your role is at the centre of delivering justice and your work will include tasks such as advising the police on evidence requirements, reviewing, and preparing case files for prosecutions and deciding whether a charge can be brought for a wide range of cases at magistrates’ court.

We want to ensure our prosecutors can thrive at work and home and offer a range of support to achieve a balance. This includes flexibility of working hours, flexibility to support caring responsibilities and a family friendly approach to work.

We also offer a range of benefits including civil service pension scheme, childcare vouchers, access to employee savings including high street retailer offers and discounts and 25 days leave, rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service.

From Carlisle to Bournemouth, and Norwich to Llandudno, our committed and highly trained teams work to make sure the right person is prosecuted for the right offense. It can be a tough job but it’s very rewarding, so if you are committed to public service and are looking for a role at the very forefront of delivering justice, find out more and apply today HERE
