Sir Alex Allan chaired the QC Selection Panel between 2017 and 2021. He was formerly a senior Civil Servant, including roles as Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, High Commissioner to Australia and Chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee.
