Rushed rules bring civil reforms

The key recommendations made by Sir Rupert Jackson in his Review of Civil Litigation Costs come into force this month.

The Ministry of Justice has come under fire, however, for the content and speed of regulations implementing the reforms.

The Bar Council has called for a number of deficiencies in the Conditional Fee Agreements (CFA) Order and Damages-based Agreements (DBA) Regulations to be corrected before the new regime begins on 1 April.
