The BSB reviewed draft Terms of Reference for its forthcoming review of pupillage at its meeting on 17 July.
Following discussion, Derek Wood QC was formally invited to Chair the Pupillage Review Working Group, and he has accepted the challenge. Continuity between thework of the BVC and Pupillage reviews is regarded as essential, as an ‘holistic’ run-through approach is taken to training for the Bar. The Pupillage Review will get underway in autumn 2008 and is expected to take approximately one year before reporting to the BSB in autumn 2009.
