Equality and Diversity Rules of the Code of Conduct

Last year the Bar Standards Board consulted on a number of rules aimed at promoting equality and diversity in the profession.

The rules cover a number of areas including parental leave, equality monitoring, fair recruitment training and chambers’ policies. The rules have been approved by our Board and have now been submitted to the Legal Services Board for final approval following which it is intended they will come into force in September 2012. Guidelines on the rules will be published later this year.
