Completion of Pupillage

Pupils will not be eligible to take up a tenancy or a position as an employed barrister until they have been issued with a full qualification certificate, which certifies completion of pupillage.

In order to be issued with a full qualification certificate, pupils must submit to the Bar Standards Board:
  • A certificate of satisfactory completion of pupillage, together with a completed check list and the compulsory pupils courses must have been satisfactorily completed.
Please note that pupils must have notified the Bar Standards Board of any changes in pupil supervisor by submitting a notification of change form.

If you have any queries about completion of pupillage, please contact the Compliance Team on 0207 611 1444 or by email pupillagerecords@barstandardsboard.org.uk

Signed certificates and completed checklists should be sent to: Karen Bayley, Bar Standards Board, 289-293 High Holborn, London WC1V 7HZ DX 240 LDE. We encourage pupils to submit a signed scanned version of these documents by email to pupillagerecords@barstandardsboard.org.uk
