Bar Council in China

International

A team of Bar Council delegates has visited China to promote the merits of the English and Welsh barrister.

Peter Lodder QC, 2011 Chairman of the Bar, hosted seminars in Beijing and Tianjin aimed at  commercial lawyers and in-house counsel. The first seminar looked at international arbitration, and the second, co-hosted by the Tianjin Lawyers Association, focused on competition law and the Bribery Act.

The Bar Council hosted a reception for alumni of the Chinese Lawyers’ Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme at the British Ambassador’s residence in Beijing, to celebrate the success of the programme and the many friendships that it fostered.
