Legal Adviser Band 2

The Criminal Division is seeking to appoint a Legal Adviser Band 2, to prosecute, review and advise in comprehensive criminal and regulatory legal matters.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Jersey Advocate, or a Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales, with experience of appearing in the Magistrate’s Court, Royal Court or Crown Court.

You must also be able to provide detailed written advice to stakeholders including the police and regulatory bodies. In addition, you should have good experience of working in, or on behalf of, a specialist unit, dealing with complex cases or rape and serious sexual offences. The role will include prosecuting on behalf of the Attorney General in the Magistrate’s Court. 

The work will be interesting, challenging and varied, working with different government agencies both in Jersey and internationally.
You will have the support of a friendly, inclusive, and highly professional team at the Law Officers’ Department, under the leadership of the Attorney General.
The role will also include the supervision of legal advisers, assistant legal advisers, paralegals, and support staff by providing advice and guidance as appropriate.
