Provide a high quality service to the firm by working with the Revenue Manager to ensure accurate invoices are issued to customers/clients.

In addition to ensure any required adjustments to bills are actioned in an appropriate and efficient timeframe

This role involves but is not limited to:

  • Working with Fee Earners and other members of the business to provide a first class billing service for the firm
  • Drafting bills and approving bills
  • Producing credit notes
  • Ensuring any agreed client fee arrangements or billing deadlines are complied with
  • Compliance with SARS, VAT
  • Time and disbursement write offs
  • Dealing with the requests and queries sent to the Billing team in a timely and efficient manner
  • Providing WIP reports and liaising with Fee Earners to maximise their billing revenue
  • Investigating legacy issues and providing critical thinking in helping to resolve/dig into problem areas
  • Collaboration with the wider Finance teams
  • Overseeing the Billing team when the Revenue Manager is not available
  • Ability to answer all types of billing queries confidently
  • Ensuring all financial data is accurately captured in the financial systems

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of working as a Biller in a Law firm
  • Working knowledge of Legal Aid billing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good experience of using 3E and fast ability to pick up new systems
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team providing support to others
  • Ability to operate in a professional, calm and friendly manner
  • Self-motivated
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • High levels of attention to detail
