In addition to ensure any required adjustments to bills are actioned in an appropriate and efficient timeframe
This role involves but is not limited to:
- Working with Fee Earners and other members of the business to provide a first class billing service for the firm
- Drafting bills and approving bills
- Producing credit notes
- Ensuring any agreed client fee arrangements or billing deadlines are complied with
- Compliance with SARS, VAT
- Time and disbursement write offs
- Dealing with the requests and queries sent to the Billing team in a timely and efficient manner
- Providing WIP reports and liaising with Fee Earners to maximise their billing revenue
- Investigating legacy issues and providing critical thinking in helping to resolve/dig into problem areas
- Collaboration with the wider Finance teams
- Overseeing the Billing team when the Revenue Manager is not available
- Ability to answer all types of billing queries confidently
- Ensuring all financial data is accurately captured in the financial systems
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience of working as a Biller in a Law firm
- Working knowledge of Legal Aid billing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good experience of using 3E and fast ability to pick up new systems
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team providing support to others
- Ability to operate in a professional, calm and friendly manner
- Self-motivated
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- High levels of attention to detail
