The Government of Anguilla

The Government of Anguilla seeks applications from people with solid experience, confidence and resilience to fill the high profile role of Attorney General of Anguilla

 a British Overseas Territory and one of the most beautiful, safe and friendly islands in the Caribbean. As principal legal advisor to Anguilla’s Governor & Ministers, the postholder advises on the full breadth of government activities, and carries out the equivalent role of DPP. They attend Executive Council and the Legislative Assembly, oversee legislative drafting, negotiate contracts and represent the Crown in major civil/criminal proceedings.

• a salary of c.EC$210k (c£50k) pa plus 15% gratuity at end of posting,

• a support package including, if applicable, relocation grant and air travel at start/end of contract, & a housing allowance (c.GBP£800 – per month)

• fixed term contract 2–3 years with possibility of extension.

Applicants must be a solicitor/barrister of professional qualification with at least 10 years broad theoretical and practical experience at a senior management/professional level. Experience of law in the Eastern Caribbean an asset, but not essential.
