City, University of London is a global university committed to academic excellence with a focus on business and the professions and an enviable central London location.
City attracts around 20,000 students (35% postgraduate level) from more than 150 countries and staff from over 75 countries.

Led by President, Professor Sir Paul Curran, City has made significant investments in its academic staff, its estate and its infrastructure and continues to work towards realising its vision of being a leading global university: it has recently agreed a new Vision & Strategy 2026. Founded in 1894, City is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.
The City Law School is the first in London and the only in the University of London to educate students and practitioners at all stages of legal education. It has a professional education pedigree that dates back over 160 years. The School has made significant advances in both research and education and seeks to build upon that success to become one of the UK’s leading law schools as it takes advantage of the new regulatory landscape for legal education. The School offers a complete portfolio of legal training, from undergraduate to postgraduate, including the Bar Professional Training Course and the Legal Practice Course; and post-qualification Continuing Professional Development.
The School is working on plans for a new suite of Bar training programmes to replace its current Bar Professional Training Course and is seeking to appoint three outstanding academics as fixed term Lecturers (to 30th April 2021) to provide educational cover on the Bar Professional Training Course.
The Lecturers will deliver course modules and associated assessments; will support and mentor postgraduate students; and may contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
The appointed candidates will be graduates with good honours degrees and qualified Barristers with proven track records of excellence in delivering outstanding education and contributing to a high-quality student experience.
While these are full-time positions, consideration will be given to applications from candidates who wish to work part-time (minimum 17.5 hours per week/0.5 FTE) on a pro-rata basis, or from candidates wishing to work on a Visiting Hourly Paid Lecturer basis (hours by agreement).
City offers a sector-leading salary, pension scheme and benefits including a comprehensive package of staff training and development.
Closing date for applications: 11:59pm 15th September 2019
