Paternity – Blood test. The claimant's application for directions that the defendant should give a saliva sample for the purpose of establishing paternity was successful. The Chancery Division held that she had made out proper grounds for such a direction to be made, and the defendant had failed to show any good reason why it ought not to be. An order could take an 'unless' form, so that the party had to choose between giving the sample and having his defence struck out.
