The Commercial Court held that the word 'unit' in art IV r 5 of the Hague Rules was not apt to apply to bulk cargoes, and thus would not apply to a cargo of fish oil that had suffered damage. Consequently, the defendant would not be permitted to limit its liability for damage via the Hague Rules.
