R v Morfitt

Sentence – Confiscation order. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, dismissed the defendant's appeal against a confiscation order in the sum of £49,663.19 which had not been disputed before the judge. The defendant had had the opportunity to oblige the prosecution to prove what it would have needed to, including the existence of the property in question, but had chosen not to do so, such that his criticism was made of the prosecution's approach was academic.
