R (on the application of T) v HM Senior Coroner for the County of west Yorkshire (West Area)

Coroner – Jurisdiction. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division held that the coroner had jurisdiction under s 1 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 to investigate the death of a baby who might or might not have been born alive without first being satisfied on balance of probability that it had been born alive and also that there had no need to made an anonymity order made in respect of the claimant mother.
