R (on the application of DC) v Secretary of State for the Home Department

Citizenship – British citizen. A declaration would be made that the defendant Secretary of State's decisions, refusing the application of the claimant, a national of the Ivory Coast, for British citizenship, had been unlawful because the reasons given had been insufficient to show that there had been a proper exercise of the Secretary of State's discretion. To that extent, the Administrative Court allowed the claimant's application for judicial review.
