The Investigatory Powers Tribunal awarded the fifth complainant £10,000 for the respondent Police Scotland's unlawfully having obtained four relevant authorisations, under Ch 2 of Pt 1 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. However, for the other five claimants, the tribunal's judgment and the complaints that they had made to the respondent constituted an effective remedy.
