European Union – Consumer protection. The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled, among other things, that, art 10(2), read in conjunction with art 2(f), of European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) 261/2004 meant that, where a passenger was downgraded on a flight, the price to be taken into account in determining the reimbursement for the passenger was solely the price of the flight on which he had been downgraded, to the exclusion of taxes and charges.
