Practice – Service out of the jurisdiction. The Queen's Bench Division dismissed an application by the claimant to serve outside of the jurisdiction, in a case where the claimant had sought to bring a claim against Donald Trump as a result of comments which he had made about people of Muslim faith in London during speeches made in his campaign for selection as the Republican nominee for President in the United States presidential election. In the circumstances, the claimant's pleading did not satisfy the requirements of CPR Practice Direction 53 and, therefore, the claim was automatically struck out pursuant to the court's unless order.
