Guisado v Bankia SA and others

European Union – Health and safety at work. Article 10(1) of Directive (EEC) 92/85 should be interpreted as not precluding national legislation which permitted the dismissal of a pregnant worker because of a collective redundancy within the meaning of art 1(1)(a) of Directive (EC) 98/59. The Court of Justice of the European Union so held, among other things, in a preliminary ruling in proceedings concerning the legality of the applicant's dismissal, in the context of a collective redundancy, while she was pregnant.
