Civil procedure – Personal injuries action – Statement of valuation – Decree by default. Sheriff Court: In a personal injuries action which called for proof without a defenders' statement of valuation having been lodged, the court refused the defenders' motion to be relieved from their failure to lodge a statement of valuation and to be allowed to lodge the statement they had attempted to lodge over four months earlier, and it concluded that it would be appropriate to grant the pursuer's motion for decree by default as a sanction for the defenders' repeated failures to comply with the rules of court.
