Costs – Third party. A limited costs order was made against the second defendant UKIP, to reflect the impact on the action and its costs of UKIP's deliberate and calculated decisions to ensure, for party political and electoral reasons, that the claimants' libel and slander action against the first defendant should not settle before the 2015 general election. The Queen's Bench Division held that it was just and reasonable to make UKIP jointly and severally liable with the first defendant in respect of the claimants' specified costs.
