Awuku v Secretary of State for the Home Department

The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, adjourned the appellant's appeal against the decision of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) and invited the Attorney General to appoint an advocate to the court. The appeal gave rise to matters which deserved to be investigated more fully than would be possible at a hearing where both parties had taken a virtually identical view, in particular as to whether Kareem (Proxy marriages - EU law) ([2014] UKUT 24 (IAC)) had been wrongly decided.
