Sentence – Wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, on a reference by the Attorney General, under s 36 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, held that a sentence of three-and-a-half years' imprisonment for an offence of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm had been unduly lenient in all the circumstances. That sentence would be quashed and substituted for a term of six years' imprisonment.
