Medical treatment – Withdrawal of treatment. It was in C, a two-month-old's best interests for the court to make the declarations sought by the applicant NHS Trust, because the intervention and invasive treatments which the respondent parents sought, conferred no real benefit, and subjected C to continuous, and ultimately futile pain, suffering and distress. Accordingly, the Family Division ruled that it was lawful for the treatments to be withheld.
