Negligence – Causation. The Queen's Bench Division held that the claimant, as representative of a set of claimants who had not received their compensation following settlement of a previous action, was entitled to damages to be assessed as a result of the defendant first of solicitors breach of duty by holding the settlement money in an account in the Ivory Coast where they lacked a robust legal system and a judicial system of reliable integrity and independence.
