Commercial Underwriter

Looking for a change of direction and some new challenges?

If you have a good analytical “legal” brain with business acumen and commercial nous, we’d like to hear from you.

We are looking to recruit an additional underwriter to join us here at Temple Legal Protection and help us build on the growing success of our commercial team.

Ideally the applicant will be a practising lawyer / barrister or have a legal training and background. Your experience, skills and knowledge will be invaluable and directly transferable to the underwriting role.

Your principal responsibility will be to process and assess applications for after-the-event insurance, which often relate to high-value and complex cases engaging a wide variety of different areas of law. We insure cases across the whole of the UK.

You will often be working with some of the best legal minds and firms in the country and on some of their most interesting and challenging cases.

You will help to manage our relationship with firms able to insure cases themselves with insurance cover provided by us.

You will be expected to play an active role in generating business for Temple through marketing and product development and by meeting clients, attending and hosting client events.

We value ourselves as being collegiate and supportive.

One thing we can assure you, there will never be a dull moment. The job is challenging both intellectually and creatively but is also very rewarding.

If this has piqued your interest and would like to learn more, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Please email your CV with covering letter to careers@temple-legal.co.uk or contact Millie Creber on 01483 514 812.

Salary package competitive.
