Can you deliver justice?

Are you a talented lawyer looking to take the next step in your career? Being a Senior Crown Prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) puts you right at the forefront of delivering justice in some of the most complex and challenging cases.

In your role, you will be able to deliver justice for victims and witnesses, change lives and make a very real impact on society. Your work will be both challenging and varied in nature, involving high volumes of casework and advocacy work in serious and sensitive cases.

The team conducts extradition proceedings on behalf of foreign authorities following a request for the extradition of a person located in England and Wales. While CPS Areas are responsible for their own European Arrest Warrants, the Extradition team makes extradition requests to non-European countries on behalf of CPS Areas and acts as a centre of expertise on extradition within the CPS.

We’re committed to building your legal skills and helping you to be the lawyer you always wanted to be. To support that, we offer a comprehensive induction programme and training in a supportive environment, including dedicated funding for your development needs and a commitment to your professional growth.

We put our staff at the heart of everything we do and offer a large range of benefits, including flexible working opportunities, access to the Civil Service pension scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement, with 25 days on entry, increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service, support for staff wellbeing and childcare benefits.

If you are committed to public service and are looking for a role at the very forefront of delivering justice, find out more and apply at https://www.cps.gov.uk/careers-cps.
