In-house Barrister/Solicitor

APPEAL is a charity and law practice committed to fighting miscarriages of justice and demanding reform. We fight the cases of individual victims of unsafe convictions and unfair sentences. We use individual cases to advocate and campaign, influencing the media, parliament, criminal justice policy makers and the public about how and why miscarriages of justice occur and what needs to change to stop them.

We’re looking for a visionary lawyer to join our small but bold team working to shake up the criminal appeals system.  If you are an experienced criminal practitioner who wants to focus on bringing wrongful conviction cases to the Court of Appeal and the Criminal Cases Review Commission, then we want to hear from you.

As a lawyer working in a unique not-for-profit law practice, this role provides the opportunity to challenge unsafe convictions armed with the resources to leave no stone unturned and without being restrained by the limits of legal aid or profit targets. You will also be supported to adopt a holistic approach to client representation.

Full details of the role and how to apply can be found at: https://appeal.org.uk/careers.

If you have any questions about the role, please email cath@appeal.org.uk
