Counsel magazine: article submission guidelines
LexisNexis publishes a range of magazines and journals covering specialist subject areas.
Counsel magazine is published by LexisNexis on behalf of the Bar Council.
Counsel magazine welcomes articles and ideas for consideration. Please email your article or précis of the article to the Editor/Commissioning Editor of the magazine.
The article will be considered by the Commissioning Editor, the Consultant Editor, and if necessary by the Policy and Editorial Board who provide direction and guidance to the editors on behalf of the Bar Council. Authors will be notified as soon as possible of the decision on the acceptability of their article. Authors are required to state that the article submitted has not been sent to any other magazine or journal.
Counsel word limits and style
- Word limits: 800 words (1 page) or 1,200-1,400 words (2 pages).
- All articles must be submitted in word.
- No footnotes. We encourage the use of bullet points, sub-headings and tables should be used wherever possible to break up the text.
- The end shot should consist of the name of the author and set of chambers etc. E-mail addresses/websites can be listed.
- Proofs are sent to the author for review prior to publication.
